清水チナツ（インディペンデント・キュレーター）、長崎由幹（ロックカフェピーターパン後継、タコス愛好家、映像技術者）、菊池聡太朗（建築／美術家）からなる、宮城県を拠点としたインディペンデントな個人の集まり。作品制作、編集、キュレーションなど、ときどきに協働しながら、学びと表現を息長く続けていきます。


団体名である「PUMPQUAKES（パンプクエイクス）」は「PUMP（心臓・循環器・鼓動）」と「QUAKES（揺れ）」をあわせた造語。2011年3月11日の大地震をきっかけに出会った私たちは、個々の活動を持ち寄り学び合い、それらを循環させ、新たな揺れに変換していきたいと考えています。

PUMPQUAKES was formed by a group of independent individuals based in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, and includes Chinatsu Shimizu (independent curator), Yoshitomo Nagasaki (, film technician and tacos lover), and Sotaro Kikuchi (artist and architect). These individuals occasionally work collectively in the genres of artistic creation, publication, and curation and seek to continue learning and expressing their ideas.
The name PUMPQUAKES is made up of the two words, PUMP and QUAKES. All of us who are members of PUMPQUAKES were affected by the 3.11 earthquake, and we hope to bring our individual works together, to produce a creative communication and to transform the works so they give off new vibrations.

(¿Quiénes Somos?)
PUMPQUAKES es un colectivo de cinco artistas independientes de la prefectura Miyagi: la fotógrafa Eriko Siga, la curadora independiente Chinatsu Shimizu, el heredero del “Rock Café Peterpan”, amante del taco, videógrafo Yoshitomo Nagasaki, el artista audiovisual Takahiro Sato, y el artista de las bellas artes y arquitecto Sotaro Kikuchi.

(¿Cómo surge?)
El nombre “PUMPQUAKES” es una palabra inventada, construida por dos palabras: “PUMP” de latidos del corazón y “QUAKES” que hace referencia a los terremotos. Nos conocimos en el terremoto y tsunami del 11 de marzo de 2011 en Japón.

(¿Qué hacemos?)
A través del intercambio artístico, aprendemos sobre las actividades de cada miembro del colectivo y a su vez lo circulamos al público. Al igual que un terremoto se expande desde su epicentro, nuestro arte pretende también llegar a otros lugares a partir de sus obras. Nuestras colaboraciones se manifiestan a través de la producción artística, redacciones, curaduría y otras actividades más.
